Last night of the proms 2012
Last night of the proms is possibly the most accessible consert featuring classic music. An eclectic blend of contemporary compostions and timeless classics, it draws huge, singing crowds and marks the end of the seasons concerts at Royal Albert Hall in London.
When asked to make a promo for 2012’s concert, I knew straight away that this called for something out of the ordinary, both to signalize that this isn’t your regular classical music concert, and also to grab the viewers attention.
I’ve long been wanting to do some proper 3d-animated characters, and I guess hands and elbows are a slow approach to that end. I drew some rough scetches and started modeling the same night, made a rudimentary rig and started banging away at the needed shots, using premade models of instruments modified to look tesselated and illustrated.
Unfortunately the promo didn’t get much airtime at NRK, luckily it lives on at youtube.
